Fundamental to the Project is the understanding that the Church exists where the people of Christ are and that more needs to be done to make this real amongst those resident in Care Homes. This will require a change in thinking and in commitment from the churches, which will need to be based on some reflection and prayer.
Churches are also asked to consider the activities they undertake that might be done within a Care Home setting, perhaps in different ways.
The 'key activists' in the Project are 'Pastoral Link People' with the role of building relationships with Care Homes and their residents, enabling relationships between residents and their churches, encouraging appropriate activities to enrich spiritual life, and enable pastoral care for those approaching the end of life.
There are situations in Central Solihull where we would like to have Pastoral-Links so if this role interested you please get in touch.
The provision of appropriate activities that encourage the spiritual life of residents involves a wider group of people, often in an occasional way. We welcome the offerings of time and ideas from volunteers. Do please get in touch!
Particular activities offered by individual churches will be welcomed as a way of maintaining links and participation in church life.
